Dictionary

User packages

Sytem usage costs are defined by a range of emailing list user packages of different capacities. Each emailing list user package has a monthly sending volume expressed as an amount of credits (dictionary below) already included in the package price. Packages are however not limited, beyond this quota usage is charged as additional credits (0,005€ per credit, for example 5€ for 1000 credits or 1000 additional typical emails). Credits usage can always be monitored in the system and the system also automatically notifies the user when the included credits quota is to be used up.

Sending credits

Specified prices and monthly volume quotas are declared per email messages bound to the size of 1 standard credit. A credit denotes an email message of up to 40KB in size sent to one recipient. Messages larger than 40KB but smaller than 80KB consume 2 credits, and messages larger than 80KB but smaller than 160KB consume 3 credits. As defined by the established email marketing standards, volume email messages should never be larger than 160KB and should preferably be smaller than 40KB whenever possible to be "light" and "friendly" to all recipients. This is however not a limitation, since these sizes (almost always below 40KB) can always be achieved using the file server.

 

File server

The Casteo integrated file server is a valuable asset for sending larger email attachments (files, pictures, videos, documents…) which could be inconvenient for recipients for example on slow or expensive internet connections. These files can be stored on the integrated file server so that they can be sent as links instead of being incorporated in the email message itself. Such email messages are therefore no larger in size even though they contain large (linked) attachments and are much friendlier for all possible different recipients. Recipients can now decide individually when they wish or are able to open these larger attachments after already receiving the email. And overall emailing campaign costs can this way be considerably reduced as well.

Segmentation

Recipients can be grouped into categories of contacts, for example according to their demographics, consumer behavior, product groups, customer types, targeting strategies etc. Each contact can be member of several categories simultaneously. Nevertheless the system always assures that no recipient gets duplicate messages in a single campaign even if sending to several categories.
